Andrew Lum '94 was named one of Brand Innovators '40 Under 40 West' Class of 2014. Brand Innovators recognizes the 40 most innovative brand marketers under 40 years old working West of Chicago. 

Julia Kehoe '11 is one of 5 U of M students who are featured in October issue of Faith Magazinge. Julia has participated in three alternative spring breaks. This last ASB, Julia led a group of students who built and renovated homes in Logan W.V.

eo Foley '00 and Wes Stoody '07 were part of a group of runners that won the Great Lakes Relay. The relay is a three-day event that covers 300 miles in the northern Lower Peninsula and the Upper Peninsula. Each team consists of 10 runners. Congratulations!

Patti Harris Sabourin '83 and daughter Katie Sabourin '10 will be the first mother-daughter duo to teach at Lake Fenton. Congratulations Katie and Patti!

Lindsey McPherson '10 has been invited to play in the Meijer LPGA Classic presented by Kraft, which will be held Aug. 4-10 at Blythefield Country Club in Grand Rapids. Congratulations Lindsey! Congratulations to Kate Hill '12. Her artwork named "16th Avenue" will be featured at the Grand Rapids ArtPrize. Her piece will be displayed at The B.O.B. in downtown Grand Rapids.

Brendan Kelly '94 has been named vice president for University Advancement and president of the UWF Foundation, Inc. at the University of West Florida. Congratulations Brendan!

Ellen Tomek '02 is the silver medalist in the 2014 World Rowing Cup 11 in the double skulls along with Meghan O'Leary. Congratulations Ellen!

An Emmy for Best Documentary in the Cultural Documentary category for "Imported from China" went to Associate Professor of Journalism Geri Alumit Zeldes '89. Congratulations Geri!

Skip Young '96 and Michael Sprague '83 at the Kia's Irving CA headquarters. Sprague has been named executive vice president of sales and marketing for Kia Motors America. Congratulations!

Sarah Drevon '90 finished the annual Borgess Run for Health, a half marathon, first place in the women's competition and 21st overall. Congratulations Sarah.

Congratulations to Mervin Singson '90. Mervin has been named CFO for Traditions of America LP, the Delaware County-based developer of 55-plus communities - including three in Cumberland and Lancaster counties.

Steve Soloman '79 is retiring from the Grand Blanc Police department after 27 years of service. We wish him a great retirement.  

Nicole Josey '10 has become part of the Detroit Pistons cheer team after overcoming a rare disease. She will be graduating from U of M-Flint this spring.

Marilee Duggan Haynes '88 has published her first novel a.k.a. Geniust about a 13 year-old boy,Gabe, as he navigates the trying times of middle-school, wonders what it means to have brains, and learns what it truly means to be himself. The book is published by Pauline books.

 

In the Holy Cross Magazine, Fall 2013, Mary Ebbott was recognized for receivinga three-year grant from the National Edowment for the Humanities to create a digital edition of the oldes complete existing manuscript of the Illiad.

Bobby Reynolds '85 will be inducted into the Greater Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame’s Class of 2013.

Ron Myers will be inducted into the Florida State League Hall November 12, 2013. 

Scott Mestrezat '04 plans to travel the length of the Missouri River on his stand-up paddleboard.

This year's EMU 52nd Alumni Awards presentation honored two Powers Catholic alumni, Suzie Staley-Schlott '96 and Patrick McInnis '84. Suzie was honored with the Youth Alumni Award and Patrick was honored with Porter Service Award.

Northwest Missouri State University President Dr. John Jasinski, Powers Catholic class of 1980, took to the skies Wednesday, flying with the famed Blue Angels.  He was a representative of higher education for a day of manuevers.
