ANNUAL FUND

2013-2014 FALL APPEAL

With the new school year upon us, we are called to continue our journey in Christ. Here at Powers Catholic High School, we answer this call every day by preparing students for life as Christian stewards as well as preparing our students for the rigors of college and life beyond high school. I invite you to consider the mission of Powers Catholic School and support our students with a gift to the 2013 Annual Fund.

Our new campus is buzzing with activity and our student body has grown to 549 students, an increase of forty from last year.   Under the leadership of Brian Sheeran, our new full-time Assistant Principal/Athletic Director, we are half way through a thrilling Fall Sports season. We are also excited about our pilot program with Kettering University and the University of Michigan-Flint. We have partnered with each of these great universities and our students enrolled in the program are taking college classes in Calculus and English.  A tradition that is alive and well is the Kairos retreat.  Father Dan Kogut, Powers Catholic Chaplain, along with Admissions Coordinator, Val Sunday and teacher Joe Philip, are now preparing for the Fall Kairos Retreats in which many of our junior young ladies and young men will take part.

The Annual Fund provides support for all of these programs without having to raise tuition to shoulder the cost, thereby making Catholic education accessible to more families. Currently, we have 260 students receiving over $650,000 in tuition assistance. The Annual Fund, along with our trust fund and other fundraising events, helps to close this gap and invites the whole Powers Catholic Community, parents, staff, grandparents, alumni, and friends, to demonstrate its support and confidence in this great school.

To support Powers Catholic's continued growth, please strongly consider making an annual gift to help us reach our $85,000 goal. While the P3 Capital Campaign still remains a priority in our effort to pay the remaining building debt, equally important to the mission of Powers Catholic, is maintaining a strong annual giving. The Annual Fund Drive has provided key support to our endowment which in turn offers tuition assistance to nearly half of the students attending Powers Catholic. Thank you for giving the gift of Catholic education to a child.  We know that with your continued support, the future of Powers Catholic High School will be strong and viable!

Yours in Christ,
