Cross Country Team Mission Statement

The Powers Catholic Cross Country team is conducted in the understanding that High School athletics primarily serves to prepare young people for the next level of life. It is the goal of the coaches and staff to have participation in Cross Country act as a unique and positive force in the lives of our young people and their community. To accomplish this, the focus will be on promoting the ideals of school spirit, teamwork, hard work, discipline, personal sacrifice, leadership, community, and sportsmanship. Decisions will be made in this context, and will not be overridden by the wishes of an individual team member or made with a “win at all costs” mentality.  With this mission in mind, certain ground rules must be applied to all individuals on the cross country team. These rules are designed with the intent of creating an environment where the ideals of Powers Catholic Cross Country are reflected in each participant’s day-to-day activities.
