Coach Bob Buckel:

Bio:

     This will be Coach Buckel's fifth year as Flint Powers Catholic's Head Coach in 2015 and 33rd year as a Head Varstiy Football Coach. He was Birch Run's Junior Varsity Football Coach from 1979-1982. Coach Buckel was the Head Coach at Birch Run High School from 1983-1990.  He was the Head Coach at Flushing High School from 1991-2009 and was the Head Coach in 2010 at Lakeville High School.  

  Coach Buckel retired from teaching in 2009 from Flushing after also teaching at Birch Run and Clio. He and his wife Cindy currently reside in Flushing.

Coach Buckel's coaching career includes:

Four Tri-Valley Championships..1985, 1986, 1988 & 1990.                                                             Three Big Nine Championships:  1994, 1997 & 2009                                                                  Saginaw Valley Championship in 2012

Twelve playoff appearances: 1988, 1994, 1997, 2000, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012 & 2014.  (16-11)

State Champions 2011 & Regional Champions 2004 & 2011                                                          District Champions 2004, 2011, 2012 & 2014

Eight Regional Coach of the Year Awards: 1984, 1988, 1994, 1997, 2004, 2007, 2011, & 2012  

Three Michigan Coach of the year awards: 1988(B), 1994(A) & 2011(D5)
